p_doom

P(doom) is shorthand for an estimated probability of AI-caused catastrophe, especially human extinction. In fandom posts it can also be a joke about a model becoming more capable or unsettling. Use this tag when the phrase or concept is explicit, including the song “I'm Upping My P(Doom)”; a generic ominous robot image is not enough.

The song predates the Claude-Pop music video archived in post 165. The lyric writer's annotated history credits MusicPerson with the opening and describes human-written sections from 2024. Claude helped write some later lines. Kenton Varda shared those notes after the video circulated to correct the impression that the lyrics were entirely AI-generated. This concerns the lyrics; the later recording and animation can still be AI-generated.
